The Obsidian Hammer is a primary melee weapon found at the end of the Obsidianite Mines in Mammon. Start from Outskirts of Mammon Beacon, follow the southern Mammon route toward the Deserted Slums and mining complex, descend through the mines, and defeat the Prophet of Profane Infinities to obtain the weapon.
Where is the Obsidian Hammer?
Section titled “Where is the Obsidian Hammer?”The Obsidian Hammer is in the Obsidianite Mines in Mammon.
A supported route uses these anchors:
Outskirts of Mammon Beacon → west / southwest → Deserted Slums / mining complex → Obsidianite Mines → Prophet of Profane Infinities → Obsidian Hammer
The weapon is tied to the encounter at the end of the mine. It is not a normal chest pickup.
How to reach the Obsidianite Mines
Section titled “How to reach the Obsidianite Mines”Once you have access to the southern Mammon route and the relevant Beacon travel, start from Outskirts of Mammon Beacon.
Some current route guides report Mother’s Breath as the item needed to clear tainted stretches after cleansing beacons and turning them in at Marrow Keep. That prerequisite is not repeated consistently enough to publish a hard beacon count or Ova threshold, so check the route in your current progression state rather than treating a specific number as confirmed.
Travel west toward the Deserted Slums / mining complex. Guides describe a small camp, a rope bridge, a descending path, and a Bone Gate with a Traverse prompt before the bridge section leading into the mining complex. From there, continue toward the large circular pit or quarry area and enter the Obsidianite Mines.
The important route decision is getting into the mining complex. Once inside the mine, continue deeper until you reach the Prophet of Profane Infinities.
For broader travel setup, see the Beacons and fast travel guide.
Fast route from Outskirts of Mammon
Section titled “Fast route from Outskirts of Mammon”For the main route:
- Start at Outskirts of Mammon Beacon.
- Head west through the nearby camp and cross the rope bridge.
- Follow the descending route to the Bone Gate, then use Traverse when the prompt appears.
- Continue across the rope-bridge section and through the Deserted Slums / mining complex.
- Find the large circular pit or quarry area and enter the Obsidianite Mines.
- Descend through the mine, watching for a collapsing floor and long drops.
- Reach the lowest arena and defeat the Prophet of Profane Infinities.
- Check your weapon list for the automatically awarded Obsidian Hammer.
This route does not require this guide to invent an exact Ova threshold or other unsupported access requirement.
The route descriptions vary in their naming of the slums and in the exact interior turns. Use the repeated landmarks above rather than relying on an invented coordinate or fixed turn count.
Shortcut from Abandoned Outpost
Section titled “Shortcut from Abandoned Outpost”If you have already unlocked Abandoned Outpost Beacon, supported launch guides show a shorter approach to the Obsidianite Mines from there.
The reported shortcut runs downhill to a teleportation gate, around coffins, and across a bridge toward the same mine area. Use it if the Beacon is already available in your run. Otherwise, the Outskirts of Mammon route above is the clearer starting path.
How to get through the Obsidianite Mines
Section titled “How to get through the Obsidianite Mines”The mine is a vertical dungeon rather than a simple corridor. Current guides consistently warn about the collapsing-floor room, ledges, and fall damage, although their exact descriptions of the lower route differ.
- Take the elevator or first descent into the mine and move past the miner enemies.
- In the room that appears empty, collect anything you want before stepping onto the center if the floor has not collapsed yet.
- After the floor gives way, descend one platform or ledge at a time. Avoid chaining long drops when you can.
- In the lower chasm, use visible platforms or ledges to cross toward the arena. If you fall to a lower level, a recovery route and launch pad are reported, but it is safer to preserve health than to plan around the fall.
- Clear or bypass miners near ledges before continuing. A hit at the edge can turn a normal enemy exchange into fall damage and a long rerun.
The mine’s exact room order is not treated as a verified map on this page. The reliable checkpoint is the lowest arena where the Prophet of Profane Infinities waits.
How to reach the Prophet of Profane Infinities
Section titled “How to reach the Prophet of Profane Infinities”After entering the Obsidianite Mines, keep progressing deeper through the dungeon.
Your destination is the Prophet of Profane Infinities, the encounter associated with the Obsidian Hammer acquisition.
The Prophet is reported as an optional hammer-wielding miniboss. The route guides describe slow, readable swings and a pause after an attack; they do not establish a complete official move list or exact frame timings.
Prophet of Profane Infinities strategy
Section titled “Prophet of Profane Infinities strategy”Prepare for the run back through the mine before entering the arena. Refill healing and other resources you rely on, and avoid spending health on unnecessary miners near ledges.
During the fight:
- Watch the full hammer wind-up instead of rushing into range.
- Dodge or parry the swing, then step in during the recovery.
- Take a short punish—usually one to three hits depending on your weapon and spacing—then back away.
- Build Break when it is safe to do so and use a Riposte if that is part of your normal kit.
- Treat any reported area burst or short combo as a reason to wait for the full sequence before punishing. Do not assume the first swing is always the end of the string.
The reviewed guides do not report a phase transition or arena gimmick. Tiel’s Shadow Dodge is one suggested matchup, not a requirement; any Shell with a timing you already understand can use the same dodge-or-parry and recovery-punish loop.
How do you get the Obsidian Hammer?
Section titled “How do you get the Obsidian Hammer?”Defeat the Prophet of Profane Infinities at the end of the Obsidianite Mines route.
The Obsidian Hammer is awarded automatically when the encounter ends. It is not a standard world chest or an ordinary pickup somewhere earlier in the mine. Check the weapon list before leaving if you want to confirm the reward.
Once you have the weapon, the Tarforge guide covers how primary weapon enhancement is unlocked.
What kind of weapon is the Obsidian Hammer?
Section titled “What kind of weapon is the Obsidian Hammer?”The Obsidian Hammer is a slow, heavy blunt weapon built around impact and stagger-oriented attacks.
Its weapon ability is called Heavy Stomps.
That describes its basic combat identity: it trades speed and recovery time for heavier impact and stagger pressure. The reviewed guides agree that early upgrades use Ventrium and later upgrades use Laterite, but they disagree on the exact final upgrade tier. Use the Tarforge guide for the upgrade system rather than treating an undated material table as definitive.
This page does not assign an unsupported tier ranking, damage table, scaling formula, exact attack-speed claim, or best build.
Use the Weapons guide for the broader weapon index.
