Mortal Shell II release date

Devout Edition: Advanced Access is live now. It started August 17, 2026 at 1:00 PM UTC, up to 72 hours before the standard launch.
The difference is access timing, not a different game. Devout Edition is the digital deluxe path with Advanced Access and the Obsidian skin set. Standard Edition is the full game on August 20.
Those clock times come from the current PlayStation Store listings. Steam’s official announcement confirms Devout Edition owners can play now, and that the general release remains Thursday, August 20. Steam’s store page still lists the Standard Edition date as August 20 without publishing a separate clock time.
What time does Mortal Shell II release?

Devout Edition / Advanced Access release time

Official Steam news (August 17, 2026) says that if you pre-ordered the Devout Edition on any platform such as Steam, you can start playing right now, up to 72 hours ahead of the general release on Thursday, August 20.
The official site frames Devout Edition as up to 72 hours of Advanced Access plus the Obsidian skin set for the eight playable Shells.
This is not the free Open Beta. Advanced Access is early play of the full game for Devout Edition owners.
Standard Edition release time

PlayStation Store currently lists that unlock as 1:00 PM UTC. Steam still shows the Standard Edition as coming August 20, with a countdown rather than a published clock time.
If you only need the base game, Standard Edition is the August 20 path. It does not include the Devout Edition Advanced Access window.

A separate Revered Edition is described on the official site as a PS5 physical collector edition. This page does not treat Revered Edition packaging extras as confirmed Advanced Access; only the Devout Edition is officially tied to the early-access window above.

Can you preload Mortal Shell II?

Current official messaging confirms pre-order / pre-purchase availability, Devout Edition Advanced Access, and the August 20 Standard Edition date. It does not publish a confirmed preload start date or a platform-by-platform preload checklist.
Devout Edition owners can already download and play. Until Cold Symmetry, Playstack, or a platform storefront states a Standard Edition preload start time, treat that preload window as unconfirmed.

Does beta progress carry over?

Official listings document launch benefits such as The Flayed Harbinger cosmetic and an optional Prologue skip after progressing beyond Marrow Keep, while currency, weapons, Shells, collectibles, and other discovered items reset.
