The Black Needle is a long-reaching primary spear found in Sester’s Bastion in Mammon. Start from the Sester’s Gate Beacon, solve the dungeon’s five-bell puzzle by hitting the bells with a Sidearm to raise stone walkways, then complete the final Sester encounter to obtain the weapon.

The Black Needle is in Sester’s Bastion, reached from the Sester’s Gate Beacon in Mammon.

The acquisition route has two important progression steps:

  1. solve the five-bell walkway puzzle
  2. complete the final encounter involving the Twin Sesters / Stray Sester

The Black Needle is obtained after that supported final encounter.

Use the Sester’s Gate Beacon as the route anchor and continue into Sester’s Bastion.

This page keeps its scope on the dungeon and weapon route rather than inventing an exact Ova threshold or another unsupported access requirement.

For the site’s wider Beacon coverage, use the Beacons and fast travel guide.

Sester’s Bastion uses five bells to control stone walkways.

Hit the bells from range with a Sidearm. Activating the bells raises the walkways that let you continue through the dungeon.

The important search problem is usually not understanding the mechanic; it is finding the bell that was missed.

The supported bell layout breaks down like this:

  • One bell is on the left.
  • A second bell is higher on the right wall.

The remaining three bells are in the deeper bridge-room section.

One of them is positioned below the bridge and is particularly easy to miss. If you have activated the obvious bells but the route still has not opened as expected, check below bridge level before retracing the entire dungeon.

This guide intentionally avoids pretending the bells have coordinate-perfect positions. Use the left / high-right / bridge-room structure to scan each section methodically.

After the bell puzzle opens the route forward, continue to the final encounter involving the Twin Sesters / Stray Sester.

Completing that supported encounter is part of the Black Needle acquisition route.

This page does not expand the fight into an unsupported boss strategy. The search intent here is reaching the weapon: solve the bells, continue through the Bastion, complete the Sester encounter, and claim the Black Needle.

Once you have completed the five-bell progression and the final Sester encounter, the Black Needle becomes obtainable.

It is a primary melee spear with long reach. Its weapon ability is called Needle Storm.

For upgrading primary weapons, see the Tarforge guide. The Weapons guide covers the site’s broader launch weapon index.
