Caged Hystrix is a Sidearm found near the Chamber of Becoming exit after completing the Sariel route from Silent Steps. It is a separate manual pickup: after the Sariel reward / Memory sequence, head up the rear / exit stairs and check the final exit area before leaving the dungeon.
Where is Caged Hystrix?
Section titled “Where is Caged Hystrix?”Caged Hystrix is in the Chamber of Becoming in Mammon.
It is on the same broader route as Sariel and the Clockwork Scythe, but it is not the same reward.
The important distinction is that Caged Hystrix must be collected separately near the dungeon exit.
What do you need to do before Caged Hystrix appears?
Section titled “What do you need to do before Caged Hystrix appears?”Complete the Sariel route through the Chamber of Becoming first.
In the final arena, Sariel’s revival mechanic is tied to four stone tablets / revival markers. Destroy them before the permanent defeat.
After that sequence, the route gives access to the Sariel / Clockwork rewards and continues toward the exit where Caged Hystrix is found.

Where to go after defeating Sariel
Section titled “Where to go after defeating Sariel”After the Sariel Memory / Shell sequence, continue toward the rear / exit stairs.
Head upward toward the dungeon exit and check the final exit area instead of leaving immediately.
Caged Hystrix is a manual pickup near that route.
How to avoid missing Caged Hystrix
Section titled “How to avoid missing Caged Hystrix”The easiest mistake is assuming the Sidearm came with the other Sariel rewards.
It does not.
Treat the Chamber rewards as three separate objectives:
- Sariel’s Shell
- Clockwork Scythe
- Caged Hystrix
After finishing the first two parts of the reward sequence, continue up the exit stairs and look for the Caged Hystrix pickup before leaving.

What Balance Patch 1 changed for Caged Hystrix
Section titled “What Balance Patch 1 changed for Caged Hystrix”Balance Patch 1 removed the minimum Resolve requirement to fire Caged Hystrix.
That is the confirmed Patch 1 change used by this guide. It does not imply a new damage value, rate of fire, scaling curve, or upgrade table.
How to unlock the Spiked trophy

The practical completion step is therefore the same as the location objective: finish the Sariel route and remember to collect the Sidearm near the Chamber exit.
