Peter’s Perfect Parry is tied to the Nameless Captive in Prisoners’ Domain, the western Corrupted Gate in Fainweald beside the Nochtean Gate beacon.

Before the attempt:

  1. Reach the Nameless Captive.
  2. Equip the Untarnished Seal. Current coverage says its Perfect Guard is the registered parry for this trophy; do not substitute the Infinite Seal.
  3. Keep the boss alive until the trophy notification appears.

The Nochtean Gate approach to the Nameless Captive encounter

The Nameless Captive has several headspin patterns. Current launch coverage distinguishes them as follows:

Pattern Counts? Practical tell
4-hit headspin No A shorter front-of-body sweep.
10-hit opening pattern No A fast opening spin sequence.
7-hit headspin Yes The phase-two pattern with the reported lean-over wind-up, six faster spins, a brief pause, and a seventh spin.

The important target is the seven-hit pattern, not any attack that happens to use the blade on the Captive’s head.

  1. Fight normally with the Untarnished Seal equipped until the phase where the qualifying pattern can appear. Recent coverage uses roughly half health and a scripted Riposte as practical cues; treat those as reported timing cues rather than frame-perfect rules.
  2. Stop attacking and watch for the Captive’s lean-over wind-up.
  3. Perfect Guard the first two hits, then maintain the rhythm through the faster spins.
  4. Expect a short pause after the sixth spin. Do not release the timing pattern too early.
  5. Perfect Guard the seventh and final hit.
  6. The trophy notification should appear immediately after the seventh successful Perfect Guard. If it does not, the sequence did not register.

The short pause before the final hit is the main rhythm trap. Count the sequence and wait for the seventh swing instead of assuming six successful guards are enough.

If you miss one of the seven guards:

  1. Do not finish off the Nameless Captive.
  2. Keep the boss’s health high enough that you do not accidentally kill it during the reset.
  3. Manage Break so a forced Riposte does not interrupt the next attempt; this is practical guidance from current coverage, not a published frame rule.
  4. Return to dodging and wait for the qualifying seven-hit wind-up again.

The failed attempt is recoverable while the boss is alive. The important lockout occurs when the Nameless Captive is killed before the trophy completes.

Current launch coverage treats the trophy as missable in the current run. If the Nameless Captive has already been killed, the next reliable opportunity is New Game Plus. See the New Game Plus guide for the carry-over and reset boundary.

  • Using the Infinite Seal instead of the Untarnished Seal.
  • Parrying the 4-hit or 10-hit pattern and assuming it counts.
  • Losing the rhythm during the pause before hit seven.
  • Letting Break force a Riposte during the sequence.
  • Killing the Nameless Captive before the notification appears.
  • Publishing or relying on exact frame timings that current sources do not establish.

Once the notification appears, you can finish the Nameless Captive fight normally. For the route, rewards, and general boss patterns, continue to the Nameless Captive guide. For Seal-system context, see Slayer Seal and difficulty.
