The practical Sanguine Caverns route is Stonebled Gate → Pulsing Caves → Sanguine Shoreline → Tarblighted Stoner → The Lost Child. Cleanse Stonebled Gate Beacon to open the Corrupted Gate, establish Pulsing Caves and Sanguine Shoreline as checkpoints, use the bone teleporter near Shoreline to reach Tarblighted Stoner, and jump through the white-spot transition after that miniboss. After defeating The Lost Child, cleanse Child’s Feeding Grounds Beacon, collect the Ova, and return through the dungeon for the Blackmarrow Key.
This walkthrough uses named Beacons and landmarks rather than map coordinates. Current route descriptions use overlapping names—Sanguine Caverns, Sanguine Caverns Gate, and Blood Caves—and some guides begin at Stonebled Gate while boss guides begin at Sanguine Shoreline. Treat Stonebled Gate as the access checkpoint and Sanguine Shoreline as the final boss-approach checkpoint.
Sanguine Caverns route at a glance
Section titled “Sanguine Caverns route at a glance”- Cleanse Stonebled Gate Beacon and open the Sanguine Caverns Corrupted Gate.
- Cross the collapsing bridges and cliff route to Pulsing Caves Beacon.
- Cleanse Pulsing Caves, then descend through the nearby hole and avoid the spiked drops.
- Shoot the three cocoons blocking the lower route and reach Sanguine Shoreline Beacon.
- Cleanse Sanguine Shoreline if needed, then use the nearby bone teleporter.
- Defeat Tarblighted Stoner and jump on the white spot to enter the boss arena.
- Defeat The Lost Child, claim Lost Clotstone, and cleanse Child’s Feeding Grounds.
- Collect the Ova, re-enter the Feeding Grounds dungeon, and check the former Ova / innermost chamber for the Blackmarrow Key.
Before entering the Corrupted Gate
Section titled “Before entering the Corrupted Gate”Cleanse Stonebled Gate first
Section titled “Cleanse Stonebled Gate first”The named access checkpoint is Stonebled Gate Beacon. Its cleanse opens the corruption outside the Sanguine Caverns gate. If the Stonebled route is not complete in your save, the Lucian, the Thirsting Knight guide covers the separate Hidden Keep branch and its Beacon context.
The broader Fainweald order is flexible. The Ova guide lists Sanguine Caverns as a practical second major gate, but that is a recommended route rather than a universal boss-order requirement.
Complete Sanguine Caverns walkthrough
Section titled “Complete Sanguine Caverns walkthrough”1. Cross the bridge route to Pulsing Caves
Section titled “1. Cross the bridge route to Pulsing Caves”Enter through the opened Corrupted Gate and follow the wooden bridges. Watch for collapsing sections, jumping enemies, explosive flying enemies, and cocoons that detonate when approached. On narrow bridges, respond to the red dodge prompt quickly so a hit does not push you over the edge.
The route bends through a red-stained cliffside and a grey sandy area. Drop past the ranged and crawling enemies, then look for the dark, organic structure that opens the Pulsing Caves Beacon menu. Activate the Beacon before pushing farther. If it is corrupted, choose the cleanse interaction so its Ova and blocked loot become available.
2. Descend from Pulsing Caves
Section titled “2. Descend from Pulsing Caves”After Pulsing Caves, return toward the nearby surface opening and clear the crawling enemies around the hole before dropping. The lower cavern has more cocoons and small red enemies, so keep moving after each landing.
Use visible platforms when they are available, but do not treat every hole as a shortcut. Some lower openings are spiked; falling into one sends you back to the last Beacon. At the bottom, shoot the three cocoons blocking the path rather than walking into their explosion range. The route then leads to Sanguine Shoreline Beacon.
3. Cleanse Sanguine Shoreline if it is corrupted
Section titled “3. Cleanse Sanguine Shoreline if it is corrupted”At Sanguine Shoreline, open the Beacon menu and choose the cleanse option if the checkpoint is still corrupted. The reported cleanse dungeon is Hermit’s Pass:
- Follow the stone tunnel to the wooden bridge.
- Cross the bridge and defeat the spider-like skeleton enemies.
- Climb the narrow crevice on the right to collect the Revered Gland.
- Return to the corrupted tree and choose the cleanse interaction.
- Collect the Ova and use the Beacon as your return checkpoint.
The exact surface approach is described differently across current walkthroughs, but the Beacon name and the lower-cavern route are the useful navigation checks. For general rest, cleanse, and travel behavior, see Beacons and fast travel.
4. Take the bone teleporter to Tarblighted Stoner
Section titled “4. Take the bone teleporter to Tarblighted Stoner”Return to the surface near Sanguine Shoreline and use the nearby bone teleporter. It takes you to the Tarblighted Stoner approach.
Tarblighted Stoner is a more aggressive rock-throwing miniboss. Stay mobile, avoid assuming that every attack can be parried, and wait out the late sequence of surrounding rock throws before moving in for a punish. When the Stoner is defeated, jump on the white spot to enter the Gate’s boss arena.
5. Defeat The Lost Child
Section titled “5. Defeat The Lost Child”The cave before the arena is the last practical preparation point. If the spirit-ally option is available, the checked boss guides support summoning Tiel there. Enter the arena when ready; the exit closes during the encounter.
The detailed attack coverage belongs to the existing Lost Child boss guide. For this route, keep three rules in mind:
- Fight from the side rather than standing directly in front of the mouth.
- Move laterally or diagonally when the boss begins its ranged barrage; straight-line retreat is less reliable.
- Treat Digest & Excrete, the grab, as the critical avoid. Do not overcommit to a long melee string in front of the boss.
The named reward is Lost Clotstone.
After The Lost Child: Ova and Blackmarrow Key
Section titled “After The Lost Child: Ova and Blackmarrow Key”Defeating The Lost Child causes the post-boss Child’s Feeding Grounds Beacon to appear in the arena. Sources sometimes write the name as “Child’s Feeding Ground”; follow the label shown in your game. Activate and cleanse the Beacon, then collect its Ova before leaving.
After the cleanse, travel back to the Feeding Grounds and choose Enter Dungeon. Return to the former Ova / innermost chamber area and check the newly accessible room for the Blackmarrow Key. The existing Lost Child guide documents this return step, while the Ova guide explains how the collected Ova fit into wider corruption and gate progression.
Route uncertainties and common mistakes
Section titled “Route uncertainties and common mistakes”Stonebled Gate versus Sanguine Shoreline as the starting point
Section titled “Stonebled Gate versus Sanguine Shoreline as the starting point”These are not necessarily contradictory directions. Stonebled Gate is the broader access checkpoint used to open the dungeon. Sanguine Shoreline is the later Beacon used for the Tarblighted Stoner and The Lost Child approach. If a guide tells you to “start at Sanguine Shoreline,” it is usually assuming the gate and interior route are already open.
Sanguine Caverns, Sanguine Caverns Gate, or Blood Caves
Section titled “Sanguine Caverns, Sanguine Caverns Gate, or Blood Caves”Current guides use all three descriptions for overlapping parts of the route. This page uses Sanguine Caverns as the primary name and relies on the named Beacons—Pulsing Caves, Sanguine Shoreline, and Child’s Feeding Grounds—to distinguish the checkpoints.
Child’s Feeding Ground or Child’s Feeding Grounds
Section titled “Child’s Feeding Ground or Child’s Feeding Grounds”The sources disagree on singular versus plural wording. The local Beacon list uses Child’s Feeding Grounds, but the in-game label in your build should take precedence.
Ova numbers and exact turns
Section titled “Ova numbers and exact turns”Do not farm to a fixed Ova number based on one guide, and do not expect every route description to agree on exact corridor turns. Use the current Siphon prompt and the Ova guide for progression; use Beacon names, holes, bridges, the bone teleporter, and the white spot for navigation. No map coordinates are asserted here.
