The Triarch Repeater is on the floor near broken wagons in the lit end area of Blackwell Cavern in Mammon. Start from Castigator’s Keep Beacon, descend by the wooden elevator or bridge-side route, enter the cave beneath the large tree, take the mine lift, and push through the dark apparition-filled tunnel. It is a dungeon pickup, not a boss reward. Balance Patch 1 removed its minimum Resolve-to-fire requirement.

Before you make the run, you need:

  • Access to Castigator’s Keep Beacon and the southern Mammon approach.
  • The corruption-cleansing progression that opens this route. Current guides tie it to collecting and siphoning enough Ova, but no reliable item-specific Ova number is established; follow the in-game progression prompt.
  • A primary melee weapon and a build that can handle or bypass the stronger Mammon enemies. This is practical preparation, not a documented item gate.

No checked source requires a key, quest, NPC dialogue, exact level, or boss kill to pick up the Triarch Repeater.

  1. Fast travel to Castigator’s Keep Beacon.
  2. Move toward the nearby battlement or cliff edge and descend. Depending on the route and terrain, you can ride the wooden elevator or drop from the bridge / battlement before continuing downward.
  3. Follow the cliffside path into the lower grassy area. Grisha Hunters, flying gargoyles, and axe-wielding enemies are reported along this approach; sprint past them if you do not want to fight.
  4. Find the cave mouth set into the cliff beneath or near a large tree and enter it.
  5. Take the mining lift deeper into Blackwell Cavern.
  6. Continue through the dark tunnel and its apparition / wraith encounters until the passage opens into a lit area.
  7. Search near the broken wagon / broken wagons. Interact with the Triarch Repeater on the floor and confirm the New Sidearm Acquired: Triarch Repeater banner or your inventory entry.

Published route descriptions use different bearings: below the broken bridge, to the right of the Beacon, east-southeast along the cliff, or north from Castigator’s Keep. Use the Beacon, lift, cliff descent, grassy field, tree-side cave, and Blackwell Cavern as the reliable anchors rather than treating one compass direction as universal.

Blackwell Cavern is extremely dark. Current coverage describes visibility as only a few feet, and approaching wraiths / apparitions can push the screen toward black and white. Lock on to track their positions, handle them one at a time, or move past them when it is safe.

The route to the reward is reported as mostly direct, with a side loop back toward the entrance. Keep moving toward the light rather than searching the upper entrance rooms for the weapon. After the pickup, one guide reports that you can finish the dungeon or quit to the main menu to avoid the return route; treat that as a convenience observation rather than a required or platform-universal step.

The Triarch Repeater is a fully automatic projectile Sidearm that provides sustained ranged pressure, particularly against groups of weaker enemies. Its firing pattern trades some mobility for automatic fire, so it complements a primary melee weapon rather than replacing it in every encounter.

An older source report describes a 50 Resolve minimum before firing and a 100 Resolve storage figure. Cold Symmetry’s official Balance Patch 1 note says the Triarch Repeater no longer has a minimum Resolve requirement to fire. Treat the patch note as the current rule; do not present the older 50 / 100 figures as universal post-patch stats.

The Triarch Repeater is listed with Tarstone compatibility including Enfeebling Stone, Rupturing Stone, Unstable Stone, Voltaic Amber, Frostshard Stone, Marksman’s Stone, Deadeye Stone, Siegebreaker’s Stone, and Spite Stone. For the system and upgrade boundary, see the Tarstones guide and Tarforge guide. No reliable cross-checked stat sheet establishes a universal damage, range, rate of fire, reload, or capacity value.

One current guide also reports lock-on drift and missed registration against some large swamp creatures. Treat that as source-reported practical coverage, not a universal bug list.

Old Painless and the all-Sidearms achievement

Section titled “Old Painless and the all-Sidearms achievement”

The official Steam achievement list defines:

  • Old Painless — “Unlock the Triarch Repeater.”
  • Guns. Lots of Guns — “Unlock all Sidearms.”

Picking up the weapon satisfies its individual unlock requirement. No checked source adds a kill, upgrade, Tarstone, boss, or missable-window requirement. Use the Sidearms guide for the eight-item roster and the Trophies and Achievements guide for the wider completion roadmap.

Cold Symmetry’s August 20, 2026 Balance Patch 1 note states: “Caged Hystrix and Triarch Repeater no longer have minimum resolve requirements to fire.” The note says the patch was live on PC and coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series shortly, so platform rollout should not be assumed to be identical.

The official weapon section does not document a direct Triarch Repeater change to damage, range, rate of fire, capacity, or Tarstone compatibility. The minimum-Resolve removal is the confirmed Item 48 change.

  • Treating one guide’s Ova total as a universal requirement. Follow the current corruption-cleansing / Siphon prompt instead.
  • Searching the upper cave entrance for the pickup. Continue to the lit end area near the broken wagon(s).
  • Assuming the elevator, bridge drop, or one compass bearing is the only route into Blackwell Cavern.
  • Treating the older 50 Resolve firing threshold as current after Balance Patch 1.
  • Expecting a boss, key, or NPC interaction to award the Triarch Repeater.
  • Publishing fixed damage, reload, range, capacity, or lock-on stats that the checked sources do not consistently support.

After the pickup, verify the Triarch Repeater in your Sidearms inventory and check for Old Painless. Continue through Blackwell Cavern or leave using the route that suits your platform. For collection cleanup, return to the Sidearms guide; for later enhancement, use the Tarforge guide.
