The reliable Prisoner’s Domain route is Nochtean Gate → Prisoner’s Way → Hangman’s Scaffold → Executioner’s Pulpit → Tishina’s Confessor → Captive’s End → Nameless Captive. Cleanse Nochtean Gate Beacon to open the Corrupted Gate, and use the named Beacons and landmarks as your route checks. Slumwater Drain is a hidden fourth Beacon in the early section, so it is easy to miss if you only follow the main path.
Before dropping into the final pit, read the Nameless Captive boss guide and the Peter’s Perfect Parry guide. The trophy attempt is tied to that encounter, so do not treat the route clear and the boss kill as the same completion decision.
Prisoner’s Domain route at a glance
Section titled “Prisoner’s Domain route at a glance”- Cleanse Nochtean Gate Beacon and enter the opened Corrupted Gate.
- Work through Prisoner’s Way, defeat the warden, and pull the gate lever.
- Check the early side route for the hidden Slumwater Drain Beacon.
- Collapse the giant statue by shooting the nearby jars or barrels, then climb the new path to Hangman’s Scaffold Beacon.
- Follow the bridge, shootable lever, wooden bridge, and elevator landmarks to Executioner’s Pulpit Beacon.
- Cleanse Executioner’s Pulpit by opening the cell route, using the switch and plate, and stepping on the pressure plate that opens the Ova gate.
- Defeat Tishina’s Confessor, then use the Bone Gates and the large tower pit to reach the Captive’s End boss area.
- Attempt Peter’s Perfect Parry if needed, defeat the Nameless Captive, and activate/cleanse the post-fight Beacon when its prompt appears before collecting the Ova.
This page uses landmarks instead of map coordinates. Current walkthroughs disagree on some compass directions and exact left/right turns, but the environmental sequence above is consistent enough to navigate without pretending that the sources share one calibrated map.
Before entering the Corrupted Gate
Section titled “Before entering the Corrupted Gate”Cleanse Nochtean Gate first
Section titled “Cleanse Nochtean Gate first”The access check is Nochtean Gate Beacon in the Fainweald approach. The checked route walkthrough begins from the Citadel of Penance, passes through Desolate Peak and Bone Portals, and reaches Nochtean Gate before the domain. Other guides describe the same gate as northwest or western Fainweald. Use the Beacon name and the Corrupted Gate prompt as the reliable confirmation; do not rely on a single compass description.
If the gate is still closed, return to Nochtean Gate and complete its cleanse route. The Beacons and fast travel guide explains the difference between activating, cleansing, and travelling from a Beacon.
Prepare for a long melee route
Section titled “Prepare for a long melee route”Prisoner’s Domain mixes crowded corridors, environmental obstacles, and two named fights before the main boss. Bring a Shell and weapon you already control, keep a sidearm available for shootable plates and jars, and spend currency before entering if the route is consuming your healing.
If you want the associated ally for the final fight, prepare the Glimpse needed to summon Eredrim. This is optional; it is not a requirement for opening the route.
Complete Prisoner’s Domain walkthrough
Section titled “Complete Prisoner’s Domain walkthrough”1. Pass through Prisoner’s Way
Section titled “1. Pass through Prisoner’s Way”Enter the Corrupted Gate and move through the opening enemy groups. A warden guards a gate on the early route. Defeat it and pull the lever to continue.
Use the distinctive environmental objects as checks rather than trying to memorize every turn:
- A note and a Resolve root mark the early branching area.
- A building sits beside the route.
- A giant statue blocks the deeper path.
- Shoot the jars or barrels beside the statue so it falls and creates a climbable route.
Some guides describe an illusory wall with a white marking near the statue area. It can provide a shortcut toward Tishina’s Confessor, but it is optional; the longer route through the Beacons remains the safer way to establish checkpoints.
2. Find the hidden Slumwater Drain Beacon
Section titled “2. Find the hidden Slumwater Drain Beacon”Slumwater Drain is the hidden Beacon that is most likely to be missing from an otherwise complete Prisoner’s Domain run.
From the early gate route, look for the upper path reached by stairs after the large gate. Continue toward the house and the brick-looking wall. Strike the false wall, jump into the revealed section, and look for the hole beyond the enemy. Dropping through it leads to the Slumwater Drain entrance and Beacon.
The exact approach is described with different left/right wording across current sources. The useful checks are large gate → upper stairs → house/false wall → revealed section → hole → drain entrance. Do not search for a coordinate or assume the first visible main-path Beacon is Slumwater Drain.
Activate the Beacon and cleanse it if you want its dungeon reward and a safer return point. If the interior layout differs from a guide’s screenshots, follow the in-game corruption prompt and the drain entrance label rather than forcing a particular turn order.
3. Reach Hangman’s Scaffold
Section titled “3. Reach Hangman’s Scaffold”Return from the Slumwater Drain area and follow the next route toward the open section with the giant statue. If you have not already done it, break the illusory wall near the altar-like area, then shoot the jars or barrels behind the statue. When the statue falls, climb over it and continue through the opening to Hangman’s Scaffold Beacon.
Hangman’s Scaffold is a practical checkpoint on the main route. Its cleanse is an enemy-horde encounter according to current walkthrough coverage, so clear the arena before trying to cleanse it. Let enemies separate where possible; taking several long-limbed enemies at once is more dangerous than the landmark route suggests.
4. Follow the bridge and elevator landmarks to Executioner’s Pulpit
Section titled “4. Follow the bridge and elevator landmarks to Executioner’s Pulpit”From Hangman’s Scaffold, continue outward until you reach the bridge section. The sources do not use identical turn descriptions here, but they converge on the following physical sequence:
- Leave the Hangman’s Scaffold area and look for stairs and a small bridge.
- Continue toward the raised section with another set of stairs.
- Shoot the lever that opens a small wooden bridge.
- Cross the opened bridge and climb toward the elevator.
- Ride the elevator and follow the path to Executioner’s Pulpit Beacon.
If you reach a dead end, backtrack to the last bridge and look for the shootable lever. The lever and elevator are more reliable route checks than a universal “turn left” instruction.
5. Cleanse Executioner’s Pulpit and collect its Ova
Section titled “5. Cleanse Executioner’s Pulpit and collect its Ova”Executioner’s Pulpit is both a checkpoint and a small puzzle dungeon. The Ova is behind a locked gate, so activate the Beacon and then work through the cells and pressure controls:
- Defeat the long-limbed enemy near the entrance.
- Attack the locks on the cell gates.
- Open the first cell on the left from the entrance and use the switch inside.
- Continue into the hall, but do not drop into the hole in the middle.
- Clear the enemies and shoot the small plate beside the locked gate with your sidearm.
- Follow the opened route through the wraith-filled chambers.
- Use the pressure plate in the chamber opposite the Squall Stone Tarstone chest.
- Enter the opened Ova room, collect the Ova, and return to the surface.
The plate, cell switch, and opposite-chamber pressure plate are the important checks. This page does not assign a fixed Ova quantity because the checked route sources do not establish one consistently.
6. Defeat Tishina’s Confessor
Section titled “6. Defeat Tishina’s Confessor”Continue beyond Executioner’s Pulpit to Tishina’s Confessor, the scythe-wielding mini-boss before the Nameless Captive. Most of the current route coverage treats the fight as a parryable encounter, but creating distance and attacking during recovery is also a valid approach if you do not want to learn every timing immediately.
The Confessor drops Confessor’s Keepsake, a Tarstone associated with the encounter. Once the fight is over, the route toward the final pit opens. If you need the detailed boss boundary, keep it separate from this walkthrough: this page’s job is to get you to the correct arena and preserve the trophy decision.
7. Cross the Bone Gates to Captive’s End
Section titled “7. Cross the Bone Gates to Captive’s End”After the Confessor, follow the newly opened Bone Gate route. You will cross several bone traversal points and continue through the final-area structures until you reach the large tower pit. The pit is the decisive landmark: dropping through it takes you to Captive’s End and the Nameless Captive encounter.
The sources disagree about the exact timing of the Captive’s End Beacon. Beacon checklists identify it as the fourth Prisoner’s Domain Beacon reached through the Bone Gates and tower hole; the linear walkthrough describes a Beacon emerging after the boss. Treat Captive’s End as the final boss-area anchor and activate or cleanse it when the game presents the interaction. Do not assume that a guide’s pre-fight or post-fight Beacon state must match your current run.
Nameless Captive: stop before the final kill
Section titled “Nameless Captive: stop before the final kill”Before entering or finishing the fight, open the Nameless Captive guide for the encounter’s route and combat advice. The boss rewards Captive’s Scabstone, which is associated with the Great Martyr’s Blade, and the encounter can damage you during its death animation if you stand too close.
If you want Peter’s Perfect Parry, stop and read the dedicated Peter’s Perfect Parry guide before killing the boss. Its current page covers the Untarnished Seal context, the seven-hit headspin attempt, the retry window while the boss remains alive, and the New Game Plus consequence after the kill. Do not assume that simply reaching Captive’s End completes that trophy.
For a normal clear, keep distance after the final hit, wait for the death animation to finish, then activate/cleanse the Beacon that the game makes available and collect the Ova.
What to do after the boss
Section titled “What to do after the boss”- Confirm that you collected the post-fight Ova rather than leaving the Beacon interaction unfinished.
- Return to Marrow Keep through your unlocked Beacon network when you are ready to spend the Ova and upgrade.
- Keep the Beacons and fast travel guide nearby if the travel option is not yet unlocked on your save.
- Use the Tarstones guide for the Confessor’s Keepsake and Captive’s Scabstone context instead of assuming every Tarstone reward is a weapon upgrade.
Route uncertainties and common mistakes
Section titled “Route uncertainties and common mistakes”“Northwest gate” versus other compass descriptions
Section titled ““Northwest gate” versus other compass descriptions”Current sources describe the Prisoner’s Domain access as northwest or western Fainweald, while another route description approaches it from the southwest part of the northern region. These descriptions are not a safe basis for a coordinate or an exact world-map bearing. Start from Nochtean Gate Beacon and use the opened Corrupted Gate as the confirmation.
Missing Slumwater Drain
Section titled “Missing Slumwater Drain”Slumwater Drain is hidden behind a false wall and a drop, so a player can reach Hangman’s Scaffold and Executioner’s Pulpit without seeing it. If the Beacon list is short by one, revisit the early house/brick-wall area before assuming the Beacon has disappeared.
Confusing the main route with the hidden shortcut
Section titled “Confusing the main route with the hidden shortcut”The white-marked illusory wall near the giant statue can shorten the route to the Confessor, but it does not replace the value of activating the main-path Beacons. Use the shortcut only after you have established the checkpoint you need.
Assuming Captive’s End has one fixed activation moment
Section titled “Assuming Captive’s End has one fixed activation moment”The checked sources disagree on whether Captive’s End is available before the final fight or appears after it. Follow the prompt in your run. The stable fact is that Captive’s End is the final boss-area landmark, not that every save exposes its Beacon at the same moment.
Killing the Nameless Captive before the trophy attempt
Section titled “Killing the Nameless Captive before the trophy attempt”If Peter’s Perfect Parry matters, do not rush the boss kill. The existing Peter’s Perfect Parry guide is the authoritative local handoff for that decision.
