Where is Smert in Mortal Shell 2?
Section titled “Where is Smert in Mortal Shell 2?”Smert’s unlock starts at Prophet’s Rest in western Fainweald.
Use Outskirts of Nochte Beacon as the practical route anchor for the final approach. At Prophet’s Rest, look for the ritual area built around a central altar / corpse area with three circular blood pools.
Your goal is to make sure all three pools end in their active red state.
Fast route from Outskirts of Nochte
Section titled “Fast route from Outskirts of Nochte”Start from Outskirts of Nochte Beacon and follow the western Fainweald route back toward Prophet’s Rest.
The most useful landmark at the destination is the ritual itself: three circular pools arranged around the central altar area.
Once you reach the site, check the pools before doing anything else. A supported route may already show one pool active, so do not assume you must personally fill three pools from empty.
For broader travel coverage, use the Beacons and fast travel guide.
How the three blood pools work
Section titled “How the three blood pools work”There are three blood pools, and all three must be active before the Smert unlock can move forward.
You have two supported ways to activate an inactive pool:
- kill an enemy while it is inside the circle
- make a Blood Offering
If one pool is already red when you arrive, leave it alone and focus on the inactive circles.
Once all three pools are active, the ritual area / altar changes red, indicating that the next interaction is ready.
How to use Blood Offerings safely
Section titled “How to use Blood Offerings safely”A Blood Offering can activate a pool, but it also ejects you from your current Shell and leaves you exposed.
If you use this method, recover your Shell before attempting another self-sacrifice.
You do not need to rely only on Blood Offerings. Enemy kills inside the circles are also a supported way to activate the ritual pools.
How to start The Convert Memory
Section titled “How to start The Convert Memory”After all three pools are active, go to the central altar and interact with the Unknown Shell.
This starts The Convert, Smert’s Shell Memory.
The blood-pool ritual is the setup; completing The Convert is the actual unlock challenge that follows.
How to finish The Convert and unlock Smert
Section titled “How to finish The Convert and unlock Smert”Progress through The Convert until you reach the Hierarch.
Defeat the Hierarch to complete the supported Memory route and unlock Smert the Apostate as a playable Shell.
This unlock is associated with the My Brether trophy / achievement.
Use the Shells guide for the site’s wider Shell index.
What kind of Shell is Smert?
Section titled “What kind of Shell is Smert?”Smert is a higher-risk Shell built around time-control and Miracle-focused gameplay.
That identity is useful for deciding whether you want to unlock him early, but this location page does not turn the route into a full Smert build or stat guide.
If you want other documented Shell routes first, see Tiel or Proxima.
