The complete Unfound Path route is: open the late-game entrance through the Marrow Keep Gloom Siphon, clear the three guardian branches, finish each branch’s tendril interaction, cleanse Hidden Nave, and take the central route to Zmey the Unbidden. The required branches are Bridge of Procession → Orrem, Obsidian Vault → The Monolith, and Faithful’s Shelter → Malborn Offspring.

The sources do not establish one mandatory order. For a practical first run, use Orrem → The Monolith → Malborn Offspring: the reviewed final-dungeon guide treats Malborn as the toughest of the three, so leaving it until your build is ready is sensible. This is a recommendation, not a quest lock.

Reach the late-game Ova progression in Marrow Keep and return to the Gloom Siphon when you have collected enough Ova. Current guides agree on the Ova-driven gate but disagree on the exact total, with reports ranging from 150 to 167–168 depending on the source and progression framing. Use the prompt shown by your current Siphon instead of farming to an unverified fixed number; the Ova guide tracks the conflict.

The preceding campaign spine is Prologue → Fainweald → Mammon → Unfound Path. For the wider route context, use the World & Progression route hub. For the Beacon interaction and travel layer, see Beacons & Fast Travel.

1. Enter the final dungeon and establish a checkpoint

Section titled “1. Enter the final dungeon and establish a checkpoint”

Use the opening beneath Marrow Keep once the Gloom Siphon has made the route available. The Unfound Path is organized around a central platform that is initially blocked by three tendrils. Explore the outer branches and activate or cleanse each named Beacon when the game presents it; do not treat the whole area as one uninterrupted boss run.

The exact interior turns vary across current route descriptions. The reliable navigation anchors are the branch names and their Beacons, not a compass direction, room count, or coordinate. The linked boss guides contain the branch-specific route details.

Take the Bridge of Procession branch and use its Beacon before the arena. Continue to Orrem, the Discarded Golem, then survive the transition into Orrem, the Reclaimed.

The fight is two forms: the first uses flaming axes, melee strings, Cascading Fire, and a jumping slam; the Reclaimed form moves faster and adds tail/spine pressure and ranged flame or blood-bullet attacks. Save healing for the second form and take short punishes after complete attack sequences.

Use the Orrem guide for the Beacon approach, summon choice, and full fight notes. After the encounter, confirm that the Bridge of Procession branch has advanced before leaving.

Take the Obsidian Vault branch, activate its Beacon, and continue to The Monolith. This is the slow, high-health fight: leave the landing area when it jumps, return to the exposed center after recovery, and take a short punish.

Around the later part of the health bar, beams cross the arena and can rotate through your position. Keep the beam in view and dodge when it reaches you rather than rolling on the first animation. The Monolith guide covers the branch route and beam timing.

After the kill, do not leave immediately. Walk to the arena’s red gland and use the sever interaction. The boss death alone is not the complete Obsidian Vault branch handoff.

4. Clear Faithful’s Shelter: Malborn Offspring

Section titled “4. Clear Faithful’s Shelter: Malborn Offspring”

Take the Faithful’s Shelter branch and use its Beacon. From there, go up the nearby stairs, cross the narrow bridge, and climb the long staircase to the circular arena.

Malborn Offspring uses delayed five- or six-hit cleaving strings. Watch the actual swing instead of counting a fixed rhythm, dodge every red-circle unblockable, and build the Stagger gauge with short, safe hits. When the first health bar empties, keep attacking during the slow resurrection; phase two adds lightning-infused attacks and electric projectiles.

Use the Malborn Offspring guide for the full route and encounter strategy. After the kill, go to the back of the arena and interact with the fleshy ribcage/tendril structure to extract the gland. Wait for the branch progression to complete before returning to the central route.

When all three branch tendrils are gone, the central platform becomes reachable. If it remains blocked, revisit each cleared arena and check for the required post-boss interaction—especially the red-gland or gland extraction step—before assuming the route is bugged.

The branch order is flexible in the current evidence. You may clear Faithful’s Shelter first or switch branches after activating a Beacon; Orrem → Monolith → Malborn is only the conservative difficulty-oriented recommendation used on this page.

Before committing to the final boss, reach and cleanse the Hidden Nave Beacon. Current boss coverage identifies the Endless Core inside Hidden Nave; it removes the normal Tarforge upgrade limit. Treat this as the final preparation checkpoint, not as a replacement for clearing the three guardians.

Then follow the central route and the final approach to Zmey the Unbidden. The Zmey guide covers the Cosmic Flame tells, Blade Slam, Cascading Flare, and the final arena. A familiar upgraded Shell and weapon are safer than changing to an unfamiliar build for a single fight.

7. Finish the current cycle before Send Ova

Section titled “7. Finish the current cycle before Send Ova”

Defeating Zmey does not automatically begin New Game Plus. Return to the current save and finish any Beacons, Shells, weapons, Tarstones, keys, or NPC scenes you still want. Only then return to Marrow Keep and choose Send Ova at the Gloom Siphon.

Treat Send Ova as the deliberate New Game Plus boundary. See New Game Plus and Endings before selecting it.

  • The current Gloom Siphon prompt allows entry to the Unfound Path.
  • Bridge of Procession is cleared and its tendril state is complete.
  • Obsidian Vault is cleared and the red gland has been severed.
  • Faithful’s Shelter is cleared and its gland/tendril interaction is complete.
  • The central platform is open.
  • Hidden Nave is cleansed and Endless Core collected if Tarforge upgrades still matter.
  • Zmey is defeated.
  • Current-cycle cleanup is complete before choosing Send Ova.

What is the Unfound Path order in Mortal Shell 2?

Section titled “What is the Unfound Path order in Mortal Shell 2?”

There is no confirmed mandatory order for the three branches. A practical recommendation is Orrem → The Monolith → Malborn Offspring, saving the reported toughest guardian for last. All three branches must be cleared.

Progress the Ova/Gloom Siphon route in Marrow Keep until the current in-game prompt opens the late-game entrance. Guides disagree on the exact Ova total, so do not treat 150 or 167–168 as a universal fixed number.

Orrem guards Bridge of Procession, The Monolith guards Obsidian Vault, and Malborn Offspring guards Faithful’s Shelter. Zmey the Unbidden waits beyond the opened central route.

You should cleanse it before Zmey if you want the Endless Core, which current coverage identifies as the item that removes the Tarforge upgrade limit. See the Zmey guide for the final preparation boundary.

No. Defeat Zmey, complete current-cycle cleanup, and choose Send Ova at the Marrow Keep Gloom Siphon only when you are ready to begin New Game Plus.

The exact entry threshold, prior gate-count framing, interior turns, and a mandatory branch order remain unresolved in the checked evidence. This guide therefore uses named landmarks, links the dedicated boss routes, and does not publish map coordinates or a fixed order as fact.
